It's a little outdated and I need to update it. But here's an idea of what I've done. Also, the Portfolio actually looks way better on the Issuu page. You can see it best here: https://issuu.com/taylorparker83/docs/parker_proportfolio_sept2020

An example of my work:

Of the dozens of projects I've managed or helped lead, there are four big ones. These four are major, multi-million-dollar projects that either protected or restored critical habitats. Here is a presentation of one of those projects:

My life's work

What is Conservation to me? For 17 years, it has been: remote locales of New Zealand, Iceland, Hawaii, and Chile; rare plants and endangered birds; starting and running non-profit companies and consulting firms;  multi-million dollar projects and community-based trash cleanups; podcasts and art shows; a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in conservation area transformations. I love this profession. I've been working in conservation since 2004 when I started volunteering for a small environmental non-profit, watering plants. That started a commitment to understanding and contributing to this work of helping the planet's plants, animals, and people.
This page is for more information about my professional capacities. Feel free to email me ([email protected]) or call me (562.331.0226) to discuss anything below.

Curriculum Vitae

Below is my curriculum vitae. It is many pages long but basically explains my professional and volunteer engagement in all the many capacities involved in being a leader in the environmental conservation movement in Long Beach, California since April 2004. A basic summary is:
  • I became involved in wetlands restoration while attending California State University, Long Beach (eventually getting my Bachelor's Degree in Comparative World Literature) through a local non-profit as a volunteer
  • I then worked as an employee for the company, managed the company, started my first environmental company (The Lagoon Explorer)
  • I started my second environmental company (Tidal Influence), and then grew that into an LLC
  • Within those 10 years I worked on every aspect of being an environmental consultant to non-profits, municipalities, and larger firms: habitat assessments, research projects, jurisdictional delineations, public speaking, workshop facilitation, education, environmental communications, restoration projects, etc.
  • Most of my work has been in California and my graduate studies have been in South Carolina.
  • I have traveled to New Zealand, the Saguaro Desert, Montana, Chile, Iceland, Canada, and Hawaii in professional capacities.
  • I have managed over 65 interns and two dozen staff
  • I have raised millions of dollars for my non-profit clients and have helped raise tens of millions for our partners in the conservation effort.
  • Throughout the years - seventeen as of Earth Day 2021 -  I have volunteered for many panels, board of director seats, and community organizations.

Presentations, Writings, and Professional Photography

I've been fortunate to develop some really fun presentations, writings, and photographs together for great groups. Below is a list of some of these projects:
  • Presentations - I've actually done so many of these for different classes, groups, and non-profit causes that I created a page which can be found by clicking the hyperlink
  • Writings -Recently, I was asked to put together an article series for the Defenders of Wildlife and you can find them here: Healing the Biosphere
  • Photos - Throughout all my work, I've taken photos and you can see them all on my Flickr page

Professional Predictive Index

After sharing the Personal Job Advertisement (above) with a professional head-hunter, she invited me to take a test called the Predictive index. After describing how I believe people rely on and view me in a professional setting, as well as describing how I view myself in professional settings, this Index shows how I work. It is frighteningly spot on minus a couple qualifications.
