The Beginning of Infinity

This is the search and study of what's next. Forever.

The quantum physicist David Deutsch published a book in 2012 called The Beginning of Infinity and, while I had been thinking upon somewhat related lines for a little while prior to reading it, this book changed the way I saw the world and the future of our planet. Most of the text is very accessible but all of it is astounding. Deutsch had me thinking for the first time that there is a trajectory for us humans that is truly beautiful and we can have meaningful pursuits worth exploring. As a physicist who cannot but see the world practically and without drama, he states his logic in utter elegance: problems are inevitable; because we live in a physical world, all problems are physical; all problems of the physical are soluble; therefore, all problems can be solved. He goes on to explain that ALL evil is insufficient knowledge and with a majestic alchemy of optimism, creativity and desire, humans have the ability to rid the world of ALL evil. He describes evil as all things, well, evil, including everything from slavery and sweat shops, to destructive hurricanes, disease and famine. Deutsch posits that we are at a point intellectually yet unexplored by humans and while we don't currently have the technical abilities available we do possess the cognitive potential to attempt that exploration.

The destruction of evil, the denial of exploitation through the creation of infinite Abundance is the Beginning of Infinity. There are thinkers and doers, artists and scientists that engage with this concept. Below I have listed several sources through media and hyperlinks. I hope to share more, including: my personal notes and outlines of their books, more videos and photos, and sources of engagement and inspiration.
